SUMMARY:Creating an Equitable Classroom Roundtable: How Can We Support Gender and Sexual Diversity on Campus?
DESCRIPTION:Facilitators: David Pereira\, Director\, Sexual & Gender Diversity OfficeScout Swartz\, Program Coordinator\, Sexual & Gender Diversity Office2SLGBTQ+ students\, faculty\, and their allies frequently navigate educational spaces in which they feel unsafe and that they don’t belong. This Equity Roundtable invites participants to engage in an open dialogue on the challenges facing the 2SLGBTQ+ community on the U of T campus. During this session we will raise awareness and create a space for people to express and share their concerns and discover support\, resources and allies to connect with on campus. Some questions we may explore include: How are people feeling in light of harmful current events? What challenges are faculty experiencing in the classroom? How can we better support members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community to feel welcome and safe in their classrooms and on campus?
