SUMMARY:Thriving\, Surviving or Just Staying Alive? How do we adapt and teach in a changing Covid world?
DESCRIPTION:Facilitators:Kate Bowers\, Learning Strategist – Resilience Focus\, Academic Success Rahul Bhat\, Resilience Program Lead\, Academic Success Megan Burnett\, Associate Director\, Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation Tamara Bahr\, Manager\, Teaching\, Learning & Technology\, Academic and Collaborative Technologies (ACT)/ Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation (CTSI)The Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation (CTSI) in partnership with Academic Success and the Office of the Vice-Provost\, Innovation in Undergraduate Education invites U of T’s teaching and learning community to gather for a collective reflection on adaptation and teaching in a changing Covid world. We all have faced pedagogical ups and downs over the past two years and many of us have recently returned to in-person teaching. As our teaching environments change and evolve\, how can we harness our collective wisdom to share back what we have observed around supporting students through adversity while maintaining our own resilience? This session will offer the opportunity to reflect on your course\, teaching\, and the many factors that impact student learning challenges. Using a structured discussion protocol\, we will focus on those teaching and learning factors that we influence as educators. In addition to open exchanges with facilitators\, participants will share personal learnings\, experiences\, and surface any lingering questions or challenges on common themes such as inclusion\, mental health\, disengagement\, and burnout.
